In January, our family gets to take a trip to Kansas City. Chris will be teaching at HOA and we get to go along! I have created a list of things that I would like to do while I am out there . . . (not necessarily in order of importance or desire!)
1. Visit with family and friends.
2. Get a QT Coke.
3. Visit Emerson Mayes and let Mike and Sara know that we are still praying for her.
4. Sleep in my own bed.
5. Go to Kaleidescope with the boys.
6. Clean my own house -- dust my OWN furniture!
7. Play with Ty and Sara -- after we tell Christopher why Jack is not around :( -- may he RIP.
8. See Reina's baby, Wyatt.
9. Eat at First Watch.
10. Go to the Charity Thrift Mart on Noland Road!!
Can't wait to see everybody. . .

The BJU Lighting Ceremony
Some may find it boring or dorky -- but I love the lighting at Bob Jones! I have gone every year since 1991 -- except the two years that I lived in KC. Even then, I had friends that would tape it off HomeSAT and give me the DVD. (Silly and sad, isn't it?) We were able to enjoy this fun time with Christopher's teacher, Jennifer Neal. After the lighting, she took the kids home and Chris and I left town for a weekend getaway to NC!! Fun. Thanks, Miss Neal, for putting up with our family fun night and watching our kids for us!

Thanksgiving in Greenville

We are reminded to be thankful during this time of year. Our family has much for which we ought to be thankful. In all these pictures, you see a wonderful house that Hampton Park has provided for us while we wait for our KC house to sell. We are also thankful that (unlike some) Chris has a job and one he loves! We are also thankful that Meema and Papa Barney got to come see us from KC for the holiday weekend!

The Feast (that took us three days to eat!)
What else is there to do with Meema and Papa's air mattress?

Christopher's First Loose Tooth
During Christopher's illness with roseola, we were up many nights because of his high fever. He came into my bedroom one night, while I was actually sleeping, and woke me up to tell me that his first tooth had fallen out! I tried to be excited.
The tooth fairy brought him a dollar. He told us that he knew it was daddy! Can't get anything past the kid.

Meema's Birthday at OUR House
Meema and Papa White got to come down and visit us for a few days. While they were here, it was Meema's birthday. The boys love birthdays!! This one was fun because we got to surprise Meema with a cake. . .a very chocolate cake. We were supposed to go out to eat but Christopher started running a fever -- later we would find out that he had roseola.

Special Visitors
One nice thing about being in Greenville is that most of our friends pass through here every once in a while. We are glad that our KC friends call when they are in town. We'd love to see more of you!!
Pastor Herbster came to visit us while he was in Greenville teaching a class at Bob Jones. Thanks for coming by and bringing Snickers bars for the kids!
Mr. Sexton was in town for a conference with Michelin. We're glad he got to come over for supper. We wish he would have brought his family, too!

Fire Station Field Trip
Happy Fall Y'all!
I never realized that Coleman had not played in fall leaves before. In MO our trees were too skinny to produce much fall foliage. Here we have plenty of leaves. The boys have already learned how to rake leaves with their new kid-sized rake from the Home Depot. (or, "Ho - Dee -doe" as Coleman would say!)

Pumpkin Patch
We got to go on a hay ride and go through a "corn maze."
Our family went to the Fisher's Pumpkin Patch in Greer, SC. It is actually a peach farm but the owners celebrate fall with a pumpkin patch. I'm sure it helps to offset the seasonal costs, too! The kids got to pet the animals at the petting zoo.
Christopher's First First Grade Day
Christopher started school at Hampton Park Christian School on
Monday, September 15th. His new teacher is Miss Jennifer Neal.
She was the teacher I had met when we were visiting in Greenville
in July. I had prayed that the Lord would put Christopher in her
class. He answered our prayers -- We are so thankful for Miss Neal!
