VA Beach -- June, 2009

Williamsburg, VA
Eating supper on the Beach

Coleman thought he was in one big sandbox!

My favorite part of the whole trip -- a Bicycle built for four. . .so fun!

I was there, too!

Christopher and Coleman -- Best Friends at the Beach

Virginia Aquarium -- Look what high tide drug in!

Eating at THE Crab Shack in Suffolk, VA on the James River

Buckroe Beach, VA -- where Meema and Papa Barney lived when they first got married

The USS Wisconsin -- We toured this ship.
We had a great time in VA Beach. While Chris taught in the mornings, the boys and I played. When he was done teaching, we played some more!! :) We did so many fun things and were able to see many historical sites. We are looking forward to going again next year. . .
I hope you enjoyed a few pictures that highlighted the trip.

Uncle Fred took us to the Botanical Gardens in Asheville, NC!

"Checking Out" at the local Hy-Vee at Edventure

Coleman pretending to be a dentist!

We all loved Edventure -- the Children's Museum in Columbia, SC.

Coleman was fascinated by "Eddie" (the big kid in the background).

He enjoyed crawling through him!

End of the School Year -- May, 2009

Christopher got this K4T Award because he memorized everything possible for the year!
We are thankful for how he enjoys hiding God's Word in his heart!
The All A's Award!

Cupcakes I made for the end of the year party -- A Beach Theme!

End of the Year Field Trip to Hollywild

Flowers in Our Yard -- well, The Missions' House Yard

I've never seen azaleas in bloom that are taller than a six year old!

Easter, 2009

To many of you who follow my blog, I must admit that with spring came a very hectic schedule for me. I am sorry that I have not updated since March! I've tried to post some things on FB but many of you are not on FB.

We had a wonderful Easter in Greenville. While the pollen is usually thick, I love the blooming flowers and bushes. Our street this year was full with the God-made colors of spring.

Eddie Rickenbacker

Famous American Day

Hampton Park Christian School

Christopher's Character: Eddie Rickenbacker

Why? Christopher wanted to be Eddie Rickenbacker b/c he was a famous airplane pilot -- why else?

Artist Series

Christopher got to go to an Artist Series at Bob Jones University last month.
He and Daddy went with Fred and Ruth Coleman to hear the Dublin Philharmonic.
Christopher had a great time sitting by his piano teacher and having her
explain some of the musical terms. He also enjoyed the drums! (oh boy!)
Most of all, he said he was fascinating by the seats that folded up when you stood up!
Thanks, Uncle Fred and Mrs. Coleman, for the fun time and tickets!

Eating Lunch at Bubba's School

Eating lunch with Christopher is one of the highlights of Coleman's week!
And, lunch is never complete without a hug from Miss Neal. . . :)

What WE Did at the Singles' Retreat -- January, 2009

The Bonclarken Playground -- What WE did during the services!
Master Barney mastered frisbee golf (and landed many in the creek!)

Coleman was a bit disappointed that he could not play frisbee golf with Daddy and Bubba. Instead, he walked around the resort looking for trolls under all the bridges -- I guess I've read Three Billy Goats Gruff to him too many times!

Christopher took his NERF gun to the Singles' Retreat. And, the singles had a ton of fun with it.
Just one of these "ton of fun" games was shooting the styrofoam cup off the victim's head. Poor Mr. Ben!

Meema and Papa's House

We were able to spend a few days with Meema and Papa White during Christmas.
It was very cold and the snow was over two feet deep (and counting!).
We had a great time eating, keeping warm and playing with the cousins.
Christopher's new game --one that requires some "brain power"

Making a gingerbread house with Aunt Amy and the cousins

All the cousins (Aaron White (6), Christopher Barney (6), Andrew White (13),

Coleman Barney (2), Aubree White (10) )

The Polar Express Exhibit in Detroit

We went to Michigan for Christmas. While there, we were able to take the boys to the mall to a really neat Polar Express exhibit. They were able to pretend they were ON the train. It snowed throughout the whole exhibit. It was a lot of fun for two little boys! :)

Family Christmas Celebration

Since we are back in Greenville we thought we'd start a new tradition.
Corny as it may be, we drove through the Roper Mtn. Lights.
Then, went back to the Missions' House to open presents!
